Among the most amazing attributes of the tourism and travel is just how professional and authentically nice people are in this industry. We are always engaged with other professionals; we belong to a select group of associations. We go to conferences and seminars. We participate in education programs. We never stop learning for our own benefit, sure, but ultimately for the purpose of serving our fellow travelers and the institutions they support. Here are a few of the ways we live out our commitment to lifelong learning as a source of inspiration.

The latest in risk mitigation
Of course, we never want to complete an incident report or take someone to the hospital while they are on a journey with us. Life happens. We regularly engage in learning about the latest travel risk and mitigation. We also offer Cancel for Any Reason travel insurance to preserve the travel investment of fellow travelers.
Access to industry research
Among the benefits of actively participating in industry groups and associations is the access we maintain to the latest in tourism and travel research: We monitor the latest research for ideas and trends as well as the latest in risk mitigation and management. Purposeful Journeys exists to serve you by bringing to bear our formidable experience gained in times of prosperity and adversity.
In January 2024, very soon after the attack by Hamas on Israel and with the conflict raging, we sent the only Christian group to visit Israel at that time, of which we and our partners in Israel are aware. So impressed was the Ministry of Tourism in Israel that a videographer was sent to document the experience of our group. Our group returned home beaming with joy from all they experienced in the Holy Land.
In January 2026, with the clouds of a wider military conflict on the horizon, we sent another group to Israel, Egypt, and Jordan. Here is a direct quote offered by one of the couples on that journey:
Like previous comments, we pray for you (our guide)and your family's safety. Plus we pray for peace in the Land of your people. We not only feel closer to Israel, but even to our Jewish friends and neighbors in Nebraska. When alarms sound in Isreal, they are heard here. Israel is no longer a faceless foreign place. We draw upon an inexhaustible reservoir of inspiration as we continue to witness the transformative power of travel in the lives of fellow travelers who embark on a purposeful journey with us.
A vital source of inspiration for us are the people we regularly encounter in the tourism and travel industry. Unlike industries in which businesses must function in highly competitive environments that can feel like swimming with proverbial sharks, people who make a living in the tourism and travel industry tend to be extraordinarily nice and refreshingly collegial. We know that whether we are facing a particularly challenging issue or we simply need someone to support us by listening, we can reach out to those with whom we have developed a collegial relationship. Likewise, we remain available as colleagues as we have found the most fruitful business relationships to be mutually beneficial and inspiring.
We also belong to several professional organizations in tourism and travel. We consistently find inspiration in the conferences we attend and the speakers we hear. Just as we encourage lifelong learning among fellow travelers in the journeys we create, we enthusiastically seek opportunities to learn. We find the content of the conferences we attend and the people we engage in our professional associations to be an incredible source of inspiration for us.
We are also inspired by the places we get to experience and the people we get to meet. We outgrew what was once a tremendous source of pride for us as we were able to say, „We will never ask a traveler to sleep in a hotel where we have not slept or eat at a restaurant where we have not enjoyed a meal.“ While have outgrown our ability to make this statement because we simply offer too many travel experiences, we continue to visit the places visited by fellow travelers on a purposeful journey with us.
We find tremendous inspiration when we visit the places our fellow travelers visit. After all, we custom curate travel experiences for some of the most desirable places in the world. We are inspired by visiting the places our fellow travelers visit. We are even more inspired by what our fellow travelers say when they return home.
